Dispute Credit Reports

Disputing Credit Report Information

It is estimated that more than 90% of credit reports contain some sort of inaccurate information.  Some of this information may be damaging to your credit score.  Not only will this cause you to pay higher interest rates, it could impact your ability to get hired or even affect things like auto insurance.  Removing damaging and inaccurate information on your credit reports can have a significant impact on your FICO score, especially when done correctly and will minimize the impact on things like jobs and insurance. If there are negative items on your report that you believe are not accurate, according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, or the FCRA, you have the legal right to challenge those items and have them removed if they are not proven accurate.  The law gives you the right to challenge these items on your own.  Unfortunately, our experience shows that going it alone will provide limited results at best and may actually damage your credit score at worst.  Additionally, the process will be incredibly frustrating and time consuming.  The law also gives you the right to hire somebody to work on your behalf.   If you have a low credit score contact us.   We have several resources, including a step-by-step do-it-yourself credit repair manual, that will give you everything you need to removing these negative items, putting you on the path to a higher credit score.  If you don’t want a do-it-yourself credit repair option, we can also provide you a referral to legitimate credit score experts who can help you understand proper credit score management and will work on your behalf to help you increase your credit score.

Remember that credit reporting agencies are in the business of selling information.  They are not in the business of verifying the information they sell.  Because of this, the credit bureaus don’t always cooperate with your requests to dispute the information in your reported credit file. Using our self-help credit repair program or having professionals work on your behalf will prove to be much more effective and efficient (time and cost) in getting inaccuracies removed.  Again, we do not advocate credit repair, but rather credit score management.
